About Me
It is my intention with Sunshadow Healing to normalize and create more space for spirituality and mental healthcare to exist together. They are interconnected just like our minds, bodies, and spirits.
I believe that healing isn’t linear or a destination. It’s a commitment, it’s work, but it can also be pleasurable, funny or just weird. It is a process we can choose to pick up and put down as we see fit. Each of us deserves to be the freest versions of ourselves, and to choose to heal is to actively push back against systemic violence. Doing the work of healing can mean becoming an active participant in your future, as you embark on the journey of remembering what those who came before you have left behind for you. Healing can be a practice of embodying freedom in places you have not felt it before.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker in the states of California and New York, a clinical supervisor, psychic medium, registered 200 hour yoga teacher, and spiritual herbalist living and working on Yokuts land (aka Fresno, Ca). I am a graduate of Karen Rose’s Sacred Vibes Spiritual Herbalism Apprenticeship Program (2021) and Columbia University School of Social Work (2015). I completed the Seminar in Field Instruction certification and have been supervising social work graduate students since 2018.
I have provided trauma-informed care to youth and adults, particularly queer and trans people of color and survivors, for almost 15 years. I have served in a variety of capacities and settings- schools, wrap-around programs, community non-profits, and mental health clinics, doing program development, advocacy, training, and direct service. I have also provided coaching, consultation, and training for organizations around gender, sexuality, trauma, and intuition.
Healing justice and liberation oriented frameworks, as well as my own healing journey, inform my work. My practice is grounded in my lived experience as a white and Southeast Asian, queer and non-binary person.
